This is a general description for the Cokin A series filters. Here we explain a bit about the system and how it works. Specific details of this individual filter can be found above.About Cokin filters:The COKIN CREATIVE FILTER SYSTEM contains a huge range of filters in many types, including; colour correction, special effects, black and white, polarising, neutral density and more…COKIN filters use the most advanced technologies. Both filters in this set have a clear centre spot which makes the central image stand out clearly.SAND SCREEN has a smoky appearance while SOFT SCREEN has an irregularly uneven surface. With SOFT SPOT the size of the clear part of the centre of the picture varies depending on the lens and aperture used.
These popular filters are renowned for their ability to minimise reflection at the filter surfaces which reduces glare and ghosting. The result is an average light transmission of over 97% giving sharp contrast and well balanced colour. Hoya HMC filters are recommended for enhancing the performance of today’s multicoated lenses. This 80B filter increases the colour temperature from 3400?K to 5500?K for the use of photoflood lamps.
Increases contrast between reds and yellows. Particularly useful for distant outdoor shots taken with a telephoto lens. Also useful in colour photography for spectacular sunsets, seascapes etc.
Used primarily for black and white photography, the Yellow/Green filter is highly effective for outdoor portraits because red is rendered dark green while gren appears lighter.Great for correcting skintones, bringing out facial expressions in close-ups and emphasising the feeling of liveliness.
Neutral Density filters (ND) filters are often ignored by photographers, but they have several uses and offer the the possibility to achieve otherwise unacheivable results. ND filters appear grey and reduce the amount of light reaching the film, they have no affect on colour balance. They have 4 main uses:i) To eneable low shutter speeds to be used, especially with fast films, to record movement in subjects such as waterfalls, clouds, car
